Made with high quality fragrant heavenly facing chillies from Chongqing in Sichuan province - known for their fiery chilli heat and tingly numbing prickly ash aka. Sichuan peppercorns. This spice blend was developed to sprinkle over spicy dishes or to be ‘oil activated’ - a process where a spoonful of this spice is added last minute to a dish, and smoking hot oil poured over the top of the spices to release the fragrant and flavour into the dish of classically Hunanese and Sichuanese dishes. The addition of salted black beans add a depth of flavour and complexity whilst the cocoa nibs give a rich, earthy background flavour.
